New Audio: Muzaffar and Bananas and More

Posted on October 15, 2019

WWB recently partnered with WNYC's Selected Shorts for an evening of readings and performances of some of our favorite stories, including Muzaffer and Bananas, in which a pair of "chubby, despairing Turkish teenagers" visit the zoo and discover their feelings for one another. (For teaching ideas and resources connected to this story, read the blog post In the Magazine: Love and Friendship in Turkey.)

Another story that might be of interest to students, especially if they are sports fans, is "Woman Striker Has Killer Left Foot,” in which an office worker wakes up as soccer star Lionel Messi. This humorous story is translated from the Hungarian.
